True Talk

Having a math degree, I had to suffer through Noam Chomsky and his work on context grammars as applied to programming, but his political activism is what I have found interesting. Came across this on Tobia's blog.

Only American audiences ask me, “What should I do?” I’m never asked this in third world. When you go to Turkey or Colombia or Brazil, they don’t ask you, “What should I do?” They tell you what they’re doing… These are poor, oppressed people, living under horrendous condition, and they would never dream of asking you what they should do. It’s only in high privileged cultures like ours that people ask this question… We can do anything. But people here are trained to believe that there are easy answers, and it doesn’t work that way. If you want to do something, you have to be dedicated and committed to it day after day. Educational programs, organizing, activism. That’s the way things change. Inspiration

A bunch of kids in the working class suburb of Kampala without the help of any organizations or the government, inspired by what they saw on t.v. decide to build a skate park and pursue skateboarding. What! From the pics they are pretty good too. Imagine what they could do with a proper skate park and real top notch equipment. Anyway seeing these images made me doodle this pic and turn it into a sticker. If you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area they will be poppin' up all over the place.

Shock and More Shock

These images have been making there way around the blogs with the question, How do you feel about these pictures and the issue of foreign aid to Africa in general? When I saw this I thought it was some photo-shop nonsense, but then to my shock it is an actual campaign. I have so many things that I want to say and that are running through my mind, but I will just leave it at this WHAT THE............you make up your own mind.

So apparently Uncultured Persons had a little spot in Fab Magazine. I knew nothing about this but thanks to you my loyal customers, I was made aware, Woot Woot. Anyway, I rushed and got my copy.
