Reflection

We were traded from the gold coast by Europeans and our own African brothers. This trade has changed our world and reshaped our thoughts. Living by European standards throughout the African diaspora we have forgotten what makes our culture powerful, rich and unique. Here we strive for riches and neglect our families, we smile upon others while wishing for their demise, all things associated with the mind frame of those who began this trade.

Dama!!!

We have all thought it when watching clips of fashion shows. "where do they get these ideas" or, "what the hell is that outfit." or in some cases, "really, that"s the hair that will accessorizes that outfit, really". Ok, maybe it is just me, but i digress.....when I saw these pictures all I could think was Nneka's (see 1st jan. post) response to the question, define Africa? Her response, "Africa is the source of Europe's inspiration". These pictures were taken by Hans Silvester while visiting Ethiopia, Sudan and Kenya.

I love being African and as I look around, Africa has become the in continent inspiring all sorts of creativity.

This is the brilliant work of Tokyo-based Cameroonian born concept-car designer, Serge Mouangue. All I can say is wow, I wish I was this creative.
