What do you SEE????

This print ad is causing an uproar. Is it saying that dove will change black cracked skin gradually to latina skin and finally to the ultimate smooth white skin, or is it just a bad placement of what this product is suppose to do. Sometimes we are so sensitive about race that we see things that aren't what someone is saying, although sometimes what we see is legitimate. But come on Dove, with your budget in the millions, nobody caught this before it went to print???????

For the River

preach Wanlov, if there is one thing we as Africans need to really care for and be in harmony with is the environment. In our race for modernity and wealth, we have forgotten what our ancestors knew.

Epic Fail

So we here at Uncultured Persons fashion ourselves as great athletes. I mean back in the day we were stars, I played soccer and basketball, making all-star teams, winning tons of awards and what not. Fast forward to this weekend. A couple of us guys decided to enter in a little soccer competition call MLS Fubolito. Should have know by the name, but we show up and we are the only Negritos around. Nobody spoke English, and my Spanish is as good as my Yoruba or Igbo (I only know abusive speech, which came in very handy). We proceed to play the first match and get thoroughly spanked. Same in the second and also in the third. I mean we looked like a bunch of amateurs out there. Just goes to show you that even if you are skilled at something without constantly honing that skill, you could lose that ability. Now I am sore all over but it was fun shah.

A Mans Man

I remember when I told my father I wanted to get my ears pierced. His response was that in our culture you had to be a mans man to get your ears pierced. Needless to say I never got my ears pierced but vowed on day that when I became a mans man I would show up with my ears pierced. Still now sure what constitutes being a mans man.

Mama I Love You

Being a mother is a blessed thing. Those of us who still get to enjoy our moms sometimes forget that not everybody has that luxury. The length of our time here is not guaranteed so make sure to tell your loved ones how you feel about them. To all the mothers out there, mad love and all those longing to be mothers, don't lose hope. Have a blessed mothers day, and let Gods peace reign. And as it is our custom here, the original Prince Nico. Mama I love you.
